Adthena connection guide

Prev Next

This guide contains all permissions and requirements for connecting your Adthena data to Supermetrics.

You can connect to data sources from the Data sources page on the Supermetrics Hub. On the Hub, you can also share an authentication link to connect to a data source you don't have direct access to.

After you connect to the data source on the Hub, you can use the data source connection in all available destinations.

Required permissions

To connect to Adthena, you need an API key and your Account ID.

  • API key: Contact Adthena support at support@adthena.com to request an API key. Note that you need a unique API key for each Adthena account or location.

  • Account ID: Your account ID can be found in the URL of your Adthena dashboard: https://application.adthena.com/brand-activator/{account_id}.

Query types

Query types define what sort of metrics and dimensions are available. You need to select one of the following query types when pulling data.

  • AI Overview Daily: Track how often AI overviews appear for your search terms over time, including appearance counts and frequency by device.

  • AI Overview Search Terms: Analyze AI overview performance at the search term level, including ad position data for your account and competitors above, below, and inside AI overviews.

  • AEO Performance: Monitor your brand's performance in AI engine results (ChatGPT, Perplexity), including citation frequency, average position, and performance score by domain.

  • Market Trends: Track competitor share of clicks, impressions, spend, and average CPC across ad types (text ads, organic, Shopping/PLA) over time.

Troubleshooting

If you see an error message saying Feature not enabled for this account, your Adthena account doesn’t have access to the requested data. This means that, for example, a specific ad type (text ads, organic, or Shopping/PLA) may not be included in your subscription. Contact Adthena support for more information.
