Meta Ad Library connection guide

Prev Next

This guide contains all permissions and requirements for connecting your Meta Ad Library data to Supermetrics.

You can connect to data sources from the Data sources page on the Supermetrics Hub. On the Hub, you can also share an authentication link to connect to a data source you don't have direct access to.

After you connect to the data source on the Hub, you can use the data source connection in all available destinations.

Required permissions

Meta Ad Library is a public ad transparency database, so you don’t need any ad account, Business Manager, or Page permissions to use it. However, Meta requires every user to complete a one-time identity verification before the Ad Library API will return data.

Before connecting, your Facebook account needs:

  • A personal Facebook account (business accounts can’t be used to call the Ad Library API).

  • A completed identity verification at Facebook identity confirmation. You’ll need to upload a government-issued ID (passport, national ID, or driver’s license), confirm your country of residence, and complete SMS verification.

Complete identity verification before connecting

Approval typically takes 1–3 business days, occasionally longer. Until Meta approves your verification, the connection will authorize successfully, but every query will return an “Identity verification required” error. If you see this error after connecting, visit Facebook identity confirmation to check your status.
