HubSpot Content Analytics connection guide

This guide contains all permissions and requirements for connecting your HubSpot Content Analytics data to Supermetrics.

You can connect to data sources from the Data sources page on the Supermetrics Hub. On the Hub, you can also share an authentication link to connect to a data source you don't have direct access to.

After you connect to the data source on the Hub, you can use the data source connection in all available destinations.

Required permissions

User permissions

You must have sufficient permissions in HubSpot to install and authorize the app. One of the following roles is required:

  • Admin

  • Owner (full access)

Supported products

To use the HubSpot Content Analytics data source, you need one of the following HubSpot products or higher:

  • Marketing Hub - Free

  • Sales Hub - Free

  • Service Hub - Free

  • Content Hub - Free

  • Data Hub - Free

Query types

Query types define what sort of metrics and dimensions are available. You need to select one of the following query types when pulling data:

  • UTM Campaign Performance: Retrieve session and engagement metrics broken down by UTM campaign parameter.

  • UTM Sources, UTM Mediums, UTM Contents, UTM Terms: Break down tagged traffic by each individual UTM dimension (source, medium, content, term).

  • Landing Pages: Analyse performance of HubSpot-hosted landing pages including sessions, contacts created, and bounce rate.

  • Website Pages: Retrieve traffic and engagement metrics for standard website pages, including CTA click and CTA click rate metrics, in addition to standard session and bounce data.

  • Blog Posts: Track individual blog post performance including sessions, pageviews, and subscriber sign-ups.

  • Blog Listing Pages: Monitor performance of blog listing/index pages. Track sessions and engagement separately from individual post performance.

  • Countries: Analyze website traffic broken down by visitor country (ISO 3166-1 alpha-2 codes) and identify geographic trends and top-performing markets.

  • Device Types: Split traffic by device category: desktop, mobile, and tablet. Compare engagement metrics across device types.

Connection instructions

When connecting to HubSpot Content Analytics, you need to log in to HubSpot and select the portal to use when prompted.

  1. Select the HubSpot Content Analytics data source on the Supermetrics Hub or in the data destination.

  2. If prompted, choose to make this connection shared or private.

  3. Click Start.

  4. Log in with your HubSpot details once prompted. If you're currently logged into a HubSpot account, Supermetrics will use those credentials to authenticate your connection.

  5. Choose which portal to authorize with.

  6. Click Allow to allow the Supermetrics app to access your data.

  7. In your data destination, select the query type to use.
