This guide contains all permissions and requirements for connecting your Salesforce data to Supermetrics.
You can connect to data sources from the Data sources page on the Supermetrics Hub. On the Hub, you can also share an authentication link to connect to a data source you don't have direct access to.
After you connect to the data source on the Hub, you can use the data source connection in all available destinations.
Note
It's important to contact your Salesforce system administrator for help before you begin this process. Salesforce instances often have custom security settings that need careful attention.
Required permissions
To connect Supermetrics to Salesforce, you need read access to objects and fields. Learn more about Salesforce permissions.
Supermetrics supports the following objects and the fields under them: accounts, campaigns, contacts, leads, opportunities, orders, tasks, and their custom fields.
Connection instructions
When connecting to Salesforce, you need to log in to Salesforce and select the accounts to use.
Note
If this is the first time Salesforce is being used with Supermetrics, these steps must be performed first by an organization Administrator or user with “Download AppExchange Packages” permissions.
Select the Salesforce data source on the Supermetrics Hub or in the data destination.
If prompted, choose to make this connection shared or private.
Click Start.
Enter your Salesforce email address and password, and click Log in.
The package for the Supermetrics app will now attempt to install.If you’re not an administrator, you’ll be blocked from installing. Please work with your organization administrator to install Supermetrics before proceeding.
If you’re an administrator:
Select which users the app will be installed for. Make sure to select an option that will allow the person who will use Supermetrics to use the app, for example, install for all members or install for specific users.
Check the box acknowledging that you’re installing an unapproved app. Note that this warning will go away once Supermetrics completes the partner security review in summer 2026.
Click Install.
Once the installation is complete (it may take a moment if you have a lot of organization members), you can click Done, and flow will take you to the Salesforce app manager for your organization.
Go back to the Supermetrics Hub or to the data destination and select the Salesforce data source.
If prompted, choose to make this connection shared or private.
Click Start.
Enter your Salesforce email address and password, if needed, and click Log in.
Click Allow to allow access.
In your data destination, select the accounts you'd like to include in your reporting.
