With Supermetrics Studio, your dashboards can go beyond reporting. You can review your ad campaigns, pause them, and adjust their budgets directly from the dashboard, and the change applies on the ad platform itself. Campaign management is especially useful if you manage budgets and campaigns across platforms and want one place to act on your data, not just report on it.
This article covers how to add campaign management to a dashboard, grant it the access it needs, and review changes before they go live.
Campaign management in Supermetrics Studio uses the same write connections as campaign management in AI chats like Claude and ChatGPT. If you manage campaigns through a chat instead of a Supermetrics Studio dashboard, see How to manage ad campaigns with AI tools.
Note on availability
The campaign management feature and Supermetrics Studio are in early access. Currently, you can manage campaigns in Facebook Ads, Google Ads, TikTok Ads, LinkedIn Ads, Microsoft Advertising, and ChatGPT Ads.
Before you begin
Make sure you have the following in place before starting to manage your ad campaigns:
You have an active Supermetrics subscription with Supermetrics Studio as a destination.
You have connected to a data source account with at least 1 of the supported ad platforms: Google Ads, Meta Ads, Microsoft Advertising, or TikTok Ads. See our connection guidance for details on how to connect.
You need to grant write access to the accounts you want to manage. You can only grant write access to accounts that belong to data source connections you own.
Grant write access to your ad accounts
Before you can create or update campaigns from a dashboard, grant write access to the accounts you want to manage.
Select the accounts you want to use for campaign management.
Select when human approval is needed. Options for human approval:
No human approval: Changes apply immediately.
Going live: Approve before a campaign goes live, including unpausing one.
Budget + going live: Approve before budget changes on live campaigns and before a campaign goes live.
All live changes: Approve any change to a live campaign (including enabling the campaign).
Click Save.
Once write access is granted, you can manage campaigns from a dashboard in Supermetrics Studio.
Every change is logged in the Campaign history on the Supermetrics Hub, so you can see exactly what was changed and undo actions if needed.
Instructions
Add campaign management to a Supermetrics Studio dashboard
Open Supermetrics Studio.
Open a dashboard where you want to manage campaigns, or create a new dashboard and connect the ad platform data you want to work with.
In the chat window, describe the campaign management view you want to add to the dashboard. For example, ask for a view that lets you review your campaigns and adjust their budgets or status.
Example prompt:Add a tab to this dashboard called 'Campaign Management and Planning.' Provide a concise overview of all campaigns, alongside action buttons that can be used to adjust budgets, pause campaigns, and adjust campaign strategies. Ensure no change to a campaign can be made until confirmation from the user takes place.
Supermetrics Studio adds the campaign management view to your dashboard. The view shows your current campaigns alongside the changes you can make, such as pausing a campaign or adjusting its budget.
Adjust campaign budgets
Go to the Supermetrics Studio dashboard where campaign management is enabled.
Click on the buttons to adjust the budget — This depends on the user interface you set up with Supermetrics Studio.
Review the change when Supermetrics Studio asks you to confirm it. The exact campaign and the change are shown before anything is applied, and nothing changes until you confirm it.
To see what changed, open Campaign history on the Supermetrics Hub. Every change is logged with its old and new values, so you can undo a change if needed.
Note
Always double-check a campaign change and its cost impact before you confirm it. You're responsible for the actions taken in your ad accounts and any related cost.
Troubleshooting
Make sure you have edit access on the ad platform account itself, not just view access. Write access in Supermetrics only reflects permissions on the Supermetrics side. If your ad platform account is view-only, campaign changes will still fail.
Known limitations
Campaign management is under active development. The following list reflects current gaps rather than permanent restrictions.
Google Ads: Life Events aren't supported.
Google Ads: Newly added keywords can appear successful without actually being added. Failures now return an explanatory note. Check the notes returned carefully and verify new keywords in Google Ads after adding them.
We recommend reviewing changes in the data source reporting directly.
