How to reassign a subscription user seat

Prev Next

This guide describes how to reassign the Supermetrics subscription user seat to a new user on the Supermetrics Hub.

You might need to reassign a subscription user seat when:

  • A team member is leaving your company: Move the subscription to someone who's staying, so your reports and data connections keep running after they lose access.

  • You're restructuring your team: Move a subscription to whoever now owns the related reporting, if responsibilities shift between team members.

  • Your reports have stopped working: If a subscription is still assigned to someone whose data source access was revoked, reassigning it and reconnecting your data sources can fix broken queries.

Before you begin

First, make sure to add the user you'd like to change subscription user seat to as a team member. Learn how to see all of your subscription's users.

Check your modification count

You can change subscription user seats up to 5 times during the subscription period. This is called your modification count.

To see your modification count, open the Subscriptions page on the Hub, or click your email address in the top-right corner and select Subscriptions. Find the subscription you'd like to review, and click it to view the subscription details. Click Assign users to see your modification count.

Transfer queries

You should transfer any queries assigned to the subscription user you're reassigning in advance. This ensures that your reporting will continue to run during and after the change.

Check your credit card details

If you're reassigning the subscription user seat because a teammate is leaving your company, make sure that the card linked to your subscription will remain valid after they leave. Learn how to update your credit card details.

Instructions

AI tools, Google Sheets, Data Studio, Excel, and Power BI

  1. Go to the Subscriptions page on the Supermetrics Hub. Check from the top bar that you're in the right team.

  2. Select the subscription you'd like to reassign.

  3. At the top of the Users list, click Assign user.

We recommend that you reconnect to your data sources after completing the change.

Data warehouse and the Supermetrics API

Data warehouse and Supermetrics API subscriptions use the Team membership feature. To change a subscription user seat, you'll have to change team members and their roles. The user originally assigned to the subscription will generally be the team's initial Owner. (There are no data warehouse or API subscription owners — there are only Team owners.)

We recommend that you reconnect to your data sources after completing the change.
