Before you begin

Before configuring the Yahoo DSP connector, you need:

  • Yahoo DSP account

  • Yahoo MDM ID

  • Whitelisting between the Data Activation and your MDM ID (contact support@relay42.com to request this)

Instructions

Step 1: Configure destination

Once you've provided your MDM ID to support@relay42.com and received confirmation that your MDM ID has been whitelisted, your account becomes available in the list of advertisers when configuring the Yahoo connector.

  1. On the Data Activation platform, select Connectors in the left-side navigation bar.

  2. Select Server to Server and click New Connector.

  3. Select Yahoo. The form requires the following information:

    • Name: Display name of the partner server-to-server integration, used throughout the Data Activation system. If you have multiple payloads, mention the payload so you can easily distinguish them when creating an audience.

    • Advertiser: The name assigned to your whitelisted MDM ID. This name is determined by support upon whitelisting. Feel free to request a specific naming convention when dealing with multiple accounts.

      Note

If you don't have an advertiser available to select in the dropdown menu, support hasn't finalized the whitelisting yet.

    • MDM ID: A unique ID that identifies your Yahoo DSP account

    • Payload type: The identifier used to send profiles to Yahoo (see supported identifiers below)

      • Hashed email SHA-256 (PartnerType 7001)

      • Hashed phone SHA-256 (PartnerType 7002)

      • Apple mobile ID (PartnerType 6003 default, can be overridden)

      • Google Play advertising ID (PartnerType 6004)

      • Yahoo ID (requires cookie sync with IAB consent string)

Note

Using the Yahoo ID requires a cookie sync, for which Yahoo has made the availability of an IAB consent string mandatory. If you don't have an IAB consent string available on-site, the Yahoo ID cannot be used. If you have an IAB consent string available and want to configure the Yahoo cookie sync, contact support for help.

Step 2: Add the destination connector to an audience or journey

When you've created the connector, you can add it to a journey or audience by creating or editing that journey/audience.

You can select or create a new 'taxonomy'. This is effectively the name of the audience that you share with Yahoo, but is named as such because you can create a nested structure to keep a clear overview if necessary.

Note

Yahoo might need a few minutes to process the creation of a new taxonomy. If you've created a new taxonomy but it doesn't show as available to select in the list, wait a few minutes and try again.
