How to manage journey and audience details

Keeping your activation details up to date helps you organize your team's workflow and improves discoverability in the Data Activation platform. This article instructs how to rename, label, and describe your journeys and audiences.

You can manage the journey and audience details from the overview list or directly within the editor and statistics views.

Before you begin

To edit journey or audience details, ensure you have the necessary permissions to manage activations in your team.

Edit details in Overview

You can rename or label an activation directly from the overview table without opening the specific journey or audience.

  1. On the Data Activation platform, go to Orchestration or Audiences.

  2. Find the activation you want to update in the list.

  3. Click the 3-dot icon (options menu) in the activation's row and select one of the following options:

    • Rename [activation]: Updates the name of the journey or audience.

    • Edit description: Adds or updates the internal description.

    • Edit labels: Adds or removes labels for organization.

  4. Enter your changes in the dialog box.

  5. Click Save.

Edit details in Editor view

You can also update details while you are working inside the edit view or viewing the statistics page.

  1. Open the journey or audience you want to edit.

  2. To rename the activation:

    1. Click the pencil icon next to the activation name in the header.

    2. Enter the new name in the text field.

    3. Click Save.

  3. To add or edit a description:

    1. Click + Description (or the existing description text) in the header.

    2. Enter a description in the text area.

    3. Click Save.

  4. To manage labels:

    1. Click + Labels (or the existing label list) in the header.

    2. Select an existing label from the dropdown list or type a new label name and press Enter to create it.

    3. To remove a label, click the x button on the label tag.

    4. Click Save.

Note

Any changes you make to names, descriptions, or labels are recorded in the activation's activity log.

Troubleshooting

If you are unable to save your changes, check the following validation rules.

Error: Name is required

  • You can’t save a journey or audience without a name.

  • Name length: The name must be between 3 and 120 characters.

  • Valid characters: Ensure you use standard letters, numbers, and symbols.

Error: Description validation

  • Description length: The description must be between 3 and 200 characters.

Error: Label validation

  • Label limit: You can assign a maximum of 5 labels per activation

  • Label length: Each label must be between 2 and 35 characters.
