How to create presentations in Supermetrics Studio

Prev Next

Client and leadership reporting decks usually take hours of copying numbers and screenshots from ad platforms into slides, and they're out of date soon after you send them. In Supermetrics Studio, the numbers on your slides come from live queries to your connected data sources, so a deck is current every time someone opens it. An agency that sends a client the same report every month only has to build that deck once.

With Supermetrics Studio, you can:

  • Ask SuperAI to build a deck from a prompt, or turn an existing dashboard into one.

  • Import the deck you already use from Google Slides or PowerPoint. It keeps its background images, speaker notes, and click animations, and SuperAI can replace static tables and charts with live data.

  • Add summaries that SuperAI writes from your data.

  • Turn on Cinematic to animate titles, charts, and numbers when you change slides or the data refreshes.

  • Present, share, or export the slides to PDF or PowerPoint.

You can start building a presentation either from scratch or based on the dashboard you’ve already created. Use the following guidelines to choose how to get started:

  • Start creating a presentation from scratch when you:

    • Want a clean environment with no leftover queries or styling

    • Want a new board ID and new sharing and permission settings

    • Are working on a completely new distinct topic or a client deck

  • Add a presentation to an existing dashboard when you:

    • Want to use the queries and data you already have on the dashboard

    • Will be sharing the presentation with the same people you shared the dashboard with

Before you begin

  • To build or change a presentation, you need a Supermetrics Studio subscription with editing capabilities.

  • Connect the data sources you want to use before you start. The presentation can use any source you have connected. See our data source connection guides for connection instructions for each data source.

Instructions

Create a presentation from a prompt

  1. Go to Supermetrics Studio.

  2. Click New board.

  3. Describe the presentation you want in SuperAI. Include the data you want to show and how many slides you want.

For example:

  • Create a five-slide quarterly review. Show revenue by channel from Google Ads and Meta Ads for the last quarter.

  • Let's create a 4-slide presentation for my team about our website traffic last month. Use Google Analytics to get the main metrics.

Turn a dashboard into a presentation

  1. Go to Supermetrics Studio.

  2. Select a dashboard to turn into a presentation and make a copy of it. Converting a dashboard to a presentation changes it, so focus on the copy and keep the original.

  3. In the copied dashboard, open Edit mode and ask SuperAI: Convert this to a slide deck.

  4. Check each slide and ask SuperAI for any changes you want.

Import a Google Slides deck

  1. Copy the link to your Google Slides deck.

  2. Go to Supermetrics Studio.

  3. Click New board.

  4. In the SuperAI chat window, paste the Google Slides link and ask SuperAI to import the deck.

  5. Click Connect to allow SuperAI to access the slides.

  6. Check each slide and ask SuperAI for any changes you want, such as adding live data in place of static tables.

The imported deck keeps its background images, speaker notes, and click animations. Speaker notes appear under each slide in edit mode, and viewers don't see them. When you present, each click plays the next animation.

Import a PowerPoint file

  1. Go to Supermetrics Studio.

  2. Drop or attach a PowerPoint file (.pptx or .ppt, up to 10 MB and 200 slides) to the SuperAI chat window or in the New board creation flow.

    1. On an existing dashboard, SuperAI reads the file as a reference.

    2. In a new dashboard, Supermetrics Studio rebuilds the file as slides while preserving its layout, fonts, colors, and images.

  3. Ask SuperAI to convert any static tables or graphs into dynamic elements with live data.

Style your presentation

Click Edit to edit your presentation.

  • Edit text: Select text and use the toolbar to change bold, italic, font, size, and color.

  • Change the layout or charts: Ask SuperAI for bigger changes in layout, color theme, or how data is presented.

  • Add animation: When you import a Google Slides deck or build a deck, choose Static for no animation or Cinematic for motion. With Cinematic, titles build up word by word, charts grow, numbers count up, and items that appear on consecutive slides glide into their new place. You can also add a moving background (Glow, Mesh, or Spotlight). Slides animate when you move between them and when the data refreshes. To change how a single slide animates, use the Slide animation toolbar above it in edit mode and pick None, Subtle, or Big moment.

Present, share, and export

  • You can present the slides in view mode. Click the buttons at the bottom or use the arrow keys to move to the next slide.

• Share a presentation the same way you share a dashboard. See sharing options.

  • To export, click Export and choose PDF or PowerPoint. Note that animations aren’t preserved when the presentation is exported in PDF or PowerPoint.

Things to know

  • Most changes go through SuperAI. Manual editing covers text and basic styling.

  • Animations don't appear in edit mode or exports.

  • Imported presentations can have up to 200 slides.
