This article gives you tips for building queries and reports that return the data you need, including how the API of this data source handles certain fields and metrics.
If you’re connecting to Marketo, follow the instructions in our connection guide. See Marketo metrics and dimensions for the fields available in this data source.
Request limits and recommended refresh window
Request limits:
General limitations:
50,000 API calls per day
100 calls per 20 seconds
10 concurrent API calls
Bulk API: See Marketo documentation.
Recommended refresh window: 3 days
Historical range
Supermetrics stores your Marketo data on first login. See About Marketo historical limits and data retention for more details.
Accounts in Marketo
In the Marketo connector, each Account is considered a separate account within the connection. The account is identified by the Munchkin ID (the unique Marketo instance identifier, format: 123-ABC-987). See the Marketo connection guide.
Your Supermetrics subscription determines how many data source accounts you can use simultaneously.
Things to consider
Today’s data
We fetch new data to our intermediate storage after every midnight UTC, so today’s data is not available.
Daily data exports
Marketo allows exporting maximum 500MB of data per day by default.
Leads, activities, and program members are fetched using the Bulk API (CSV exports). If the daily limit of exported data size is reached during import, remaining import jobs will be rescheduled to the next day (0:00 Central Time).
We currently import data in 1-day periods for Leads and Activities. For other objects, see About Marketo historical limits and data retention. If a single period contains more than 500 MB of data, the import won’t succeed even after retries the next day.
If you hit the limit and the daily import won’t work, or you just want to speed up your data fetching in general, you can purchase additional quota from Marketo. More information can be found in the Marketo Engage Community.
