How to enable enhanced scheduled refreshes in Google Sheets (public beta)

Prev Next

Enhanced scheduled refreshes automatically update and email your reports based on the rules you set, making it easy to share the reports to your stakeholders on regular basis.

Unlike regular scheduled refreshes, which rely on Google, the processes that power enhanced scheduled refreshes run in Supermetrics itself. This offers increased reliability, more runtime per query, and improved retry logic.

If you're already using scheduled refreshes in your reporting, enabling enhanced scheduled refreshes is something you only need to do once. Once enhanced scheduled refreshes are enabled, the improvements are applied to all your existing scheduled refreshes.

Before you begin

This feature is in public beta. It’s available to all users with a paid subscription.

Enhanced scheduled refreshes need the same access rights to your files as the Supermetrics Add-in itself. Having this access means that the scheduled refreshes can automatically update the spreadsheets running Supermetrics queries.

Instructions

Enable enhanced refreshes

  1. Open the Supermetrics sidebar.

  2. Go to the Schedules tab.

  3. Scroll down to Enable enhanced scheduled refreshes.

  4. Log in with the Google Account you use with Supermetrics.

  5. Click Continue.

  6. Close the confirmation window.

Disable enhanced refreshes

If you want to disable this feature at any time, launch the Supermetrics sidebar with the account you used to enable enhanced scheduled refreshes. In the Schedules tab, select Disable enhanced scheduled refreshes. This will revert all of your scheduled reports to the standard refresh feature.

Disabling and then re-enabling enhanced scheduled refreshes can also help resolve issues with them.

See all scheduled refreshes

You can see all the refreshes assigned to the account you're logged in to at any time by going to the Schedules tab in the Supermetrics sidebar and clicking View all schedules in all spreadsheets. You can see the file name, refresh name, last refresh date, and status. Any errors also appear here. Click the arrow at the beginning of the row to view more details.
