# Threads Insights connection guide

This guide contains all permissions and requirements for connecting your Threads Insights data to Supermetrics.

You can connect to data sources from the [Data sources page on the Supermetrics Hub](https://hub.supermetrics.com/token-management). On the Hub, you can also [share an authentication link](/v1/docs/how-to-connect-to-data-sources-from-supermetrics-hub#share-authentication-link) to connect to a data source you don't have direct access to.

After you connect to the data source on the Hub, you can use the data source connection in [all available destinations](/v1/docs/threads-insights-connection-guide#connection-instructions).

## Required permissions

To connect your Threads data to Supermetrics, you need to log in with your Instagram account and allow Supermetrics access to your Threads data.

Supermetrics requires 2 types of access:

- Access and display your Threads information and posts (Required) This access is necessary to fetch data for the Profile engagement and Profile followers query types.
- Manage insights of posts on Threads (Optional) This access is required to fetch data for the Post query type.

## Query types

Query types define what sort of metrics and dimensions are available. You need to select one of the following query types when pulling data:

- Profile engagement
- Profile followers
- Post
