# Sprout Social connection guide

This guide contains all permissions and requirements for connecting your Sprout Social data to Supermetrics.

You can connect to data sources from the [Data sources page on the Supermetrics Hub](https://hub.supermetrics.com/token-management). On the Hub, you can also [share an authentication link](/v1/docs/how-to-connect-to-data-sources-from-supermetrics-hub#share-authentication-link) to connect to a data source you don't have direct access to.

After you connect to the data source on the Hub, you can use the data source connection in [all available destinations](/v1/docs/sprout-social-connection-guide#connection-instructions).

## Required permissions

To connect Sprout Social to Supermetrics, you need:

  - Your account's owner should follow [Sprout Social's instructions](https://api.sproutsocial.com/docs/#access-requirements--authentication) to create this token.

Note that to fetch engagement data for X (Twitter), you need to [approve additional permissions](https://api.sproutsocial.com/docs/#twitter-data-twitter-content-end-user-license-agreement).

## Query types

Query types define what sort of metrics and dimensions are available. You need to select one of the following query types when pulling data:
