# Shopify: New historical limitations - April 28, 2026

In order to keep the Shopify data source stable and affordable into the future, we will be instituting new historical data limitations.

Starting April 28, 2026, we will no longer allow Shopify queries with a start date older than five years to be run. We will also remove from our storage all data older than five years.

There is one exception for Data Warehouse destinations:

We will continue to allow backfills for data older than five years, but this will use live API calls instead of our storage for these older queries. Requests for older data may be quite slow due to this change.

## What you need to do

If having access to this older query data is important, please take action to retain it before **April 28, 2026**.

If you have any queries with start dates older than five years, you may want to update them to prevent the data from being overwritten with an error once the change takes effect.

Options include:

- Setting the date range inside the last five years
- Using dynamic rolling date range to stay within the last 5 years
- For Google Sheets, using the `KEEP_RESULTS_ON_REFRESH_ERROR` advanced setting. See [our guide on using advanced setting in Google Sheets](/v1/docs/about-supermetrics-advanced-settings-for-google-sheets) for more information.
