# Pinterest Public Data connection guide

This guide contains all permissions and requirements for connecting your Pinterest Public Data data to Supermetrics.

You can connect to data sources from the [Data sources page on the Supermetrics Hub](https://hub.supermetrics.com/token-management). On the Hub, you can also [share an authentication link](https://docs.supermetrics.com/v1/docs/how-to-connect-to-data-sources-from-supermetrics-hub#share-authentication-link) to connect to a data source you don't have direct access to.

After you connect to the data source on the Hub, you can use the data source connection in [all available destinations](/docs/pinterest-public-data-connection-guide#connection-instructions).

## Required permissions

Pinterest Public Data allows you to collect publicly available data about Pinterest posts. It doesn't require you to log in to a specific account.

## Query types

Query types define what sort of metrics and dimensions are available. You need to select one of the following query types when pulling data:

- **Pinterest user**: User information like account name, profile link, follower count, and more
- **Pinterest pins for users**: Data on user pins, including Pin URL, image, description, and more

## Connection instructions

When connecting to Pinterest Public Data, you need add the Pins or usernames to include in the query when prompted.

1. Select the Pinterest Public Data data source [on the Supermetrics Hub](https://hub.supermetrics.com/token-management) or in the data destination.
2. If prompted, choose to make this connection [shared or private](https://docs.supermetrics.com/docs/about-shared-and-private-connections).
3. Click **Start**.
4. In your data destination, select the query type to use.
5. Add the Pinterest usernames. You can add more than one username, each on a new line.
