# How to use Data blends and Custom fields in Data Explorer

Data Explorer allows you to shape your results using Supermetrics data blending and custom fields to quickly analyze your marketing directly on the Supermetrics Hub.

Data blending lets you combine data from multiple sources into a single view for more comprehensive analysis. In Data Explorer, you can query your data blends by selecting the Data blend as the data source.

Custom fields enable you to create new metrics or dimensions tailored to your reporting needs. In Data Explorer, you can find the custom fields by selecting the data source for which you created the custom field. The custom fields are under the custom fields category in the metrics or dimensions, depending on the type of field you created.

## Before you begin

## Instructions

### Find Data blends in Data Explorer

Data blending lets you combine data from multiple sources into a single view for more comprehensive analysis. In Data Explorer, you can query your data blends by selecting the Data blend as the data source.

1. On the [Supermetrics Hub](https://hub.supermetrics.com), go to **Data Explorer**.
2. Click **Explore my data**.
3. In the sidebar, click **Data source.** Select Data Blending as the source, and click **Next**.
4. In the sidebar, click **Date range** and select a preset (such as Last 7 days or This year to date). You can also define a custom date range.
5. Click **Fields**and select**metrics** and**dimensions.**
6. Click **Filters** to add any optional filters.
7. Click **Sort & limit** (optional).
8. Click **Options** to adjust connector-specific options, if available. Options vary by data source.
9. At the bottom of the sidebar, click **Load data**. The table will populate with your selected metrics and dimensions.

### Select Custom fields in Data Explorer

  1. Select the data source to use, and click **Next**.
  2. Select the connection to use, and click **Next**
  3. Select the accounts to use, and click **Next**.
4. In the sidebar, click **Date range** and select a preset (such as Last 7 days or This year to date). You can also define a custom date range.
5. Click **Fields**. Custom fields are listed in the Custom fields category in the metrics or dimensions.
6. Click **Filters** to add any optional filters.
7. Click **Sort & limit** (optional).
8. Click **Options** to adjust connector-specific options, if available. Options vary by data source.
9. At the bottom of the sidebar, click **Load data**. The table will populate with your selected metrics and dimensions.
