# How to use advanced date settings in Salesforce

Supermetrics offers advanced date settings for Salesforce, allowing you to fetch opportunity and lead date data based on when the opportunity or lead was created, last modified, or when an opportunity was closed or a lead converted.

- **Opportunities**: You have the option to base dates on the following:
  - Created date
  - Last modified date
  - Closed date
- **Leads**: You have the option to base dates on the following:
  - Created date
  - Last modified date
  - Converted date

The option selected will dictate how the results are populated on the Salesforce API by controlling the date base for standard dimensions (such as "Date" or "Year & Month"). This can help eliminate discrepancies with the data you see in Salesforce reporting, as you can set the date base to match what you want to use. The default setting is "Created date" for both leads and opportunities.
