Instead of switching between ad platforms, you describe what you want, and the AI handles the rest. You can view, create, and update ad campaigns across Google Ads, Facebook Ads, Microsoft Advertising, TikTok Ads, ChatGPT Ads, LinkedIn Ads, and Snapchat Marketing — without leaving your chat window. If you use [Supermetrics Studio](/v1/docs/supermetrics-studio), you can [manage campaigns directly from your dashboards](/v1/docs/how-to-manage-ad-campaigns-in-supermetrics-studio). ## Campaign planning Get started with your campaigns with proper data-powered planning and find out what would work to reach your targets. - **Research before you build**: Pull historical performance data for similar targeting and creatives, and use those results to inform your next campaign — instead of starting from scratch. - **Find keyword gaps**: Compare impression share gaps with search volume to decide which opportunities are worth targeting. - **Estimate reach in a new market**: Before you commit budget to the campaign, get an estimate of audience size and interest across platforms to set realistic expectations. - **Expand a campaign to a new platform**: Copy an existing campaign structure from Google Ads and adapt it for Microsoft Advertising or TikTok Ads — without rebuilding from scratch. ## Campaign execution and optimization Keep an eye on your ad campaigns, review any changes, and adjust accordingly when issues arise. - **Identify underperforming campaigns, pause** **them, and fix them**: Identify campaigns that aren't meeting your targets, pause them, and reallocate budget — all in the same conversation, without switching tools. - **Review before you apply**: Every proposed change is shown to you before it goes live, so you can confirm or adjust before anything is applied. - **Refresh ad creative when performance drops**: Spot declining CTR and generate replacement images with AI in the same session. - **Build multi-platform campaigns**: Create variants tailored for Google Ads, Meta Ads, and TikTok Ads in a single conversation, without switching between interfaces. - **Undo a change that hurt performance**: Review what was changed in your [Campaign change history](https://hub.supermetrics.com/campaign-history) and revert it if needed. New campaigns are always created with a paused status so you can review them before they go live. > [!NOTE] > Note > > This feature is currently in early access and is free to use with your existing Supermetrics subscription. ## Before you begin - To manage campaigns in your AI tool, you need an active Supermetrics trial or subscription with an AI chat destination. - To use the Supermetrics MCP server, your Supermetrics subscription must include Supermetrics MCP server access. - You have connected to a data source account with at least 1 of the supported ad platforms: Google Ads, Meta Ads, Microsoft Advertising, TikTok Ads, ChatGPT Ads, LinkedIn Ads, or Snapchat Marketing. See [our connection guidance for details on how to connect to these data sources](/v1/docs/connect). - You need to grant campaign write access to the accounts you want to manage. You can only grant write access to accounts that belong to data source connections you own. ### Grant campaign write access to your ad accounts Before you can create or update campaigns, you need to grant campaign write access to the accounts you want to manage. 1. Go to [Campaign write access on the Supermetrics Hub](https://hub.supermetrics.com/write-settings). 2. Select the accounts you want to use for campaign management. 3. Select when human approval is needed. Options for human approval: - **No human approval**: Changes apply immediately. - **Going live**: Approve before a campaign goes live, including unpausing one. - **Budget + going live**: Approve before budget changes on live campaigns and before a campaign goes live. - **All live changes**: Approve any change to a live campaign (including enabling the campaign). 4. Click **Save**. Once campaign write access is granted, you can start managing campaigns in Claude, ChatGPT, or through the Supermetrics MCP server. ### Campaigns are created safely All campaigns are created in a paused state. This means that nothing goes live until you've reviewed the campaign and explicitly enabled it. Every change is also logged in the [Campaign change history](https://hub.supermetrics.com/campaign-history) on the Supermetrics Hub, so you can see exactly what was changed. To revert changes, you can ask the AI tool to restore the previous value. Note that restoring a previous value works for budget, status, name, dates, bidding, targeting, URL tags, and ad settings. Removed campaigns can’t be recovered. ## Instructions ### Create a campaign 1. In Claude or ChatGPT, describe the campaign you want to create. Include details such as the platform, budget, targeting, and the campaign goal. 2. The AI confirms your account selection and campaign settings before creating anything. 3. The campaign is created in a paused state. Review the campaign details, targeting, and ad creative. 4. When you're ready to go live, ask the AI to enable the campaign — or enable it directly in the ad platform. > [!WARNING] > Double-check before going live > > Always double check AI-assisted campaign interactions and their related cost impact before execution. You are responsible for your interactions with AI and any actions taken by it and the related cost this may generate for your campaigns. ### Use research tools You can use research tools before creating or updating a campaign. Ask your AI tool a question about your data, your audience, or your budget. Examples include: | What to research | Platforms supported | | --- | --- | | Find keyword ideas and search volumes for a specific product in a specific geographical area | Google Ads, Microsoft Advertising | | Explore interests and targeting options | Google Ads, Meta Ads. Partially supported in Microsoft Advertising, TikTok Ads, and Snapchat Marketing. | | Investigate reach estimate for targeting in a geographical area | Google Ads, Meta Ads | | Get platform recommendations for campaign optimization | Google Ads, Meta Ads, Microsoft Advertising | | Traffic and performance forecasting | Google Ads | | Fetch all campaign experiments | Google Ads | These research steps only look up information. They don’t change your campaigns. ### Update an existing campaign 1. In Claude or ChatGPT, describe the change you want to make. For example: "Pause all Google Ads campaigns where the cost per acquisition is over €50" or "Increase the budget for my TikTok campaign by 20%." 2. The AI shows you the proposed changes before applying them. 3. Confirm the changes to apply them. All updates are logged in your [Campaign change history](https://hub.supermetrics.com/campaign-history). If you see an error stating that the budget change is too big, split the change to smaller steps. ### Edit ads and creatives For most ad platforms, you can also edit the ads, including text, creatives, and keywords, in the AI chat. To make changes, just describe the change to the AI tool, and it’ll make the change for you. **Ad editing behavior:** - Keywords and negative keywords can be edited only in Google Ads and Microsoft Advertising. - Google Ads, Microsoft Advertising, TikTok Ads, and LinkedIn Ads replace the edited ad with a new one (new ID). - Meta Ads swaps the creative on the same ad. - ChatGPT Ads edits in place. - With Snapchat Marketing, you can modify only the ad name and status, not the creatives. ### Remove campaign You can remove campaigns by asking the AI chat to set the campaign as removed. > [!WARNING] > Note > > Removed campaigns can’t be recovered. ### Disable campaign management If you want to turn off campaign management for your team, [contact Supermetrics support](https://hub.supermetrics.com/support) to have the feature disabled on your account. ## Troubleshooting ### Write access isn't working even though it's enabled In your AI chat, you’re logged in to one Supermetrics team at a time. Campaign write access is enabled on the Supermetrics Hub separately for each team. Make sure that you’re using the AI chat with the same team the campaign write access was enabled for. If campaign changes fail with `WRITE_ACCESS_NOT_ENABLED` error in Claude, ChatGPT, or Gemini, try the following steps. #### Enable write access in the right team 1. [Log in to the Supermetrics Hub](https://hub.supermetrics.com) with the same email you used to connect to Supermetrics in your AI tool. 2. Open the link in the error. The link takes you to the **Campaign write access** page on the Supermetrics Hub in the team you’re using. 3. Enable write access for the ad account and click **Save**. 4. Try make the change again in your AI tool. You don't need to reconnect. Did you switch write access on with a different email? Each email is a separate login with its own team. Write access enabled under another email doesn't apply here. > [!NOTE] > Ad account not on the list or can’t change settings? > > Only the person who connected the ad account to Supermetrics can enable write access for it. Ask the person who owns the connection to enable write access. #### Switch to the right team in the AI tool If you notice that you’re not using the right team in your AI tool, disconnect the Supermetrics connector in your AI tool. Then, connect Supermetrics again and select the right team, if asked. For a team under a different email address, connect with that email. #### Check your access in the ad platform Write access in Supermetrics doesn't change your role in the ad platform. If you have view-only access to the Google Ads or Meta account, campaign changes will still fail. Ask the account admin for edit access. ### Campaign management tools don't show in your session Start a new session in your AI tool and ask it to fetch the available tools again. This loads the latest campaign management tools. ### Campaign management support by data source Campaign management is under active development, so this list reflects current gaps rather than permanent restrictions. Check the [Supermetrics MCP server changelog](https://mcp.supermetrics.com/changelog) for the latest updates before assuming an operation isn't supported. - **Google Ads**: Life Events aren’t supported. Google Ads allows them in the user interface but not through the API. - **Google Ads**: When you add keywords, check the notes in the response. If a keyword wasn't added, the note tells you why. You can also confirm new keywords in Google Ads. We recommend reviewing changes in the data source reporting directly. ### Ad policy compliance If your ad campaigns aren’t approved by the ad platform, the platform returns a partial failure error and an error message pointing to itself. Check your campaign with the AI chat, check the ad platform, and view the [Campaign change history](https://hub.supermetrics.com/campaign-history) on the Supermetrics Hub to see more details. To avoid partial failures, make sure that your ad complies with the ad platform's advertising policies, such as: - [Google Ads policies](https://support.google.com/adspolicy/answer/6008942) - [Meta advertising standards](https://transparency.meta.com/policies/ad-standards/) - [Microsoft advertising policies](https://help.ads.microsoft.com/#apex/ads/en/60205/0-500) - [LinkedIn advertising policies](https://www.linkedin.com/legal/ads-policy) - [Snap advertising policies](https://www.snap.com/ad-policies) - [TikTok advertising policies](https://ads.tiktok.com/resources/help/article/tiktok-advertising-policies) - [ChatGPT ad policies](https://openai.com/en-GB/policies/ad-policies/) ## More resources - [Supermetrics for Claude](/v1/docs/supermetrics-for-claude) - [Supermetrics for ChatGPT](/v1/docs/supermetrics-chatgpt-integration) - [Supermetrics Marketing Intelligence Agent for Gemini](/v1/docs/supermetrics-marketing-intelligence-agent-for-gemini) - [Supermetrics MCP server](/v1/docs/supermetrics-mcp-server) - [Use cases for Supermetrics AI chats and Supermetrics MCP server](/v1/docs/use-cases-for-supermetrics-ai-chats-and-mcp-server) - [About Business Context in AI tools and Supermetrics Studio](/v1/docs/about-business-context-in-ai-tools-and-supermetrics-studio)
