# How to create a X Ads account for X Organic (Twitter)

Follow these steps to create and set up a X Ads account. You need a X Ads account to use the X Organic (Twitter) data source connector by Supermetrics.

## Instructions

****Step 1: Make sure your X account profile is complete****

Your X account profile must be fully set up before connecting it to a X Ads account. The following must be added to the profile before proceeding:

- Profile picture
- Background picture
- Bio with a functional URL to a website
- Location

****Step 2: Create X Ads account****

1. If you have not set up a X Ads account for your X account, log in to the [X Ads portal](https://ads.x.com/) to create it.
2. Enter a country and timezone.
3. Follow the steps to set up your first campaign and ad. You can enter anything for the objective.
4. Add billing information. This is required, but you can immediately stop the campaign to prevent any charge.
5. Finish the setup, and you'll be redirected to the ad manager.

****Step 3: Add tax information to X Ads account****

1. Open the [X Ads portal](https://ads.x.com/).
2. In the top right-hand corner, click your account name and select **Account settings**.
3. Select the **Tax information** tab and select the appropriate tax status.
4. Fill in your contact information.
5. Click **Save tax information**.

****Step 4: Set up post permissions in X Ads account****

1. Open the [X Ads portal](https://ads.x.com/).
2. In the top right-hand corner, click your account name and select **Edit access to account**.
3. Click **Edit access**.
4. Check the box for **Can compose promotable tweets** next to your account.
5. Click **Save changes**.

If the above steps are completed correctly, your initial campaign should have the status of “Running,” and the top banner of the ad manager should show more than just Analytics.
