# How to connect to a Supermetrics data source in Google Sheets

This guide will walk you through how to log in to a data source using the Supermetrics sidebar in Google Sheets. In the video below, we use Facebook Ads as an example.

Make sure you’ve [installed the Supermetrics add-on](/v1/docs/how-to-install-supermetrics-in-google-sheets) before you begin.

## Instructions

1. Open a Google Sheets file.
2. Click **Extensions** → **Supermetrics** → **Launch** to open the sidebar.
3. Click **Create new query**.
4. Under **Data source**, select the data source you want to add.
5. Choose to make this connection [shared or private](/v1/docs/about-shared-and-private-connections).
6. Depending on the data source, enter your credentials and click **Start**, or click **Start** directly and then log in to the data source. [See our data source-specific connection guides for the permissions each data source requires](/v1/docs/connect).
