Use the Google Trends connector to pull time, geo, trending search, and interest data. Create reports to predict demand for your product based on search volume for selected keywords, or benchmark interest in topics across regions and time periods.
Before you begin
Before you build reports, you need to connect the data source to Supermetrics.
Connection instructions: See our Google Trends connection guide.
Available metrics and dimensions: Find the full list of fields in our Google Trends field documentation.
Query types
With this data source, you need to select a query type to get the right type of data:
Interest over time: Search interest for a term tracked over a selected time period.
Interest by hour: Search interest broken down by hour of the day.
Interest by region: Search interest segmented by geographic region.
Related queries: Search queries related to the selected term.
Related topics: Topics related to the selected search term.
Topic suggestions: Suggested topics based on the search term.
Daily search trends: The most popular daily search trends.
All query types use the Interest metric. Interest values represent search interest relative to the highest point for the given region and time: 100 is peak popularity, 50 means half as popular, and 0 means there was not enough data. When fetching rising related queries, Interest shows percentage growth instead.
Note
If you need to use multiple query types in your Looker Studio report, you will need to create separate connectors for each query type.
Popular queries
These query configurations help you track key performance indicators and analyze trends. You can use these settings in any Supermetrics destination, such as Data Explorer, Dashboards, Google Sheets, Looker Studio, or data warehouse destinations.
