Google is changing what its Ads API returns for three fields. The change reaches Supermetrics on September 21, 2026, and affects every tool that reports on Google Ads, not just Supermetrics.
Performance Max network breakdown
Performance Max campaigns used to return a single "Cross-network" value for Network. They now report the specific channel: Search, Search Partners, YouTube, Display, Gmail, Discover, or Maps.
If your filters use Network = "Cross-network", they'll stop returning Performance Max data. There's no error — you'll get an empty result instead, so check your reports rather than waiting for something to look wrong.
One Performance Max row can become up to seven rows. This changes row counts, data transfer volumes, and any totals built on this data.
Channel-level data only exists for dates from June 1, 2025 onward. A query that covers earlier dates will return "Cross-network" for those rows and the specific channel name for later ones.
Channel-level Performance Max data is only available through the Google Ads API. You can't reconcile it against the same breakdown in the Google Ads interface.
Asset performance for Search and Display
Google no longer returns an asset performance label for Search and Display campaigns. That column will be empty for those campaigns going forward. It used to return values such as Pending, Learning, Good, Best, or Low.
Performance Max and Demand Gen campaigns are unaffected and continue to return labels.
If you filter or group by asset performance, your reports will no longer return rows for Search or Display campaigns.
Click type on asset reports
Google removed the click type segment from three report types. Click type is no longer available on the Customer asset, Campaign asset, and Ad group asset reports. It's unchanged on every other report.
What you need to do
Review any queries, filters, or scheduled refreshes that use these fields:
Network, if you filter on "Cross-network" for Performance Max campaigns
Asset performance for Search or Display campaigns
Click type on the Customer asset, Campaign asset, or Ad group asset reports
