# Good to know about Instagram Insights

This article outlines recommendations and notes certain limitations imposed by the data source API, which you may need to consider when building your queries.

## Request limits and recommended refresh rate

**Recommended refresh window**: 5 days

## Historical range

- Metrics data is stored for up to 2 years.
- Stories disappear after 24 hours.
- The media endpoint gets a maximum of 10,000 of the most recently created objects.

## Accounts in Instagram Insights

In the Instagram Insights connector, each Profile is considered a separate account within the connection.

Your Supermetrics subscription determines the number of [data source accounts](https://docs.supermetrics.com/docs/about-data-source-accounts) you can use simultaneously.

## Things to consider

### Time zone

Meta’s API for Instagram Insights appears to use UTC-7:00 as the time zone to determine days. This may contribute to discrepancies and other issues based on time.

### Collaboration posts

Instagram media collaboration post data can only be read by the Instagram media creator; collaborators can’t get data on media they collaborated on.
