# Azure Event Hubs (Event Connector) setup for Data Activation

The Data Activation connector for Azure Event Hubs allows you to integrate real-time customer data streams with Azure's scalable event processing platform. This connection empowers your organization to process, analyze, and act on customer data efficiently across your digital ecosystem.

The Azure Event Hubs event connector allows you to stream all the raw events ingested into the Data Activation directly to your Azure Event Hubs instance. This data can then be used in Azure for different use cases, such as reporting.

Here's how this integration adds value:

- **Real-time data streaming**: Seamlessly transfer event data to Azure Event Hub in real-time, enabling immediate action and insights for your marketing and analytics workflows.
- **Scalable event processing**: Handle high volumes of customer events effortlessly with Azure Event Hub's robust infrastructure, ensuring reliable performance even during peak activity.
- **Enable advanced analytics**: Use Azure's analytics tools, like Azure Stream Analytics or Azure Synapse Analytics, to derive actionable insights from customer data streams.
- **Facilitate omnichannel campaigns**: Use real-time event data to power personalized campaigns across multiple channels, ensuring consistency and relevance in customer interactions.
- **Seamless integration**: Connect with Azure Event Hub to integrate data seamlessly with other Azure services like Azure Machine Learning, Power BI, or Azure Functions for enhanced processing and automation.
- **Support for event-driven architectures**: Enable an event-driven marketing strategy by routing customer data events to the appropriate downstream systems for faster decision-making and campaign execution.
- **Enhanced data security**: Benefit from Azure's enterprise-grade security and compliance to ensure that sensitive customer data is protected during transfer and processing.

## Before you begin

Before configuring the Azure Event Hubs event, make sure that you have the following set up:

- Azure Event Hubs configuration must be completed (see [initial Azure Event Hubs configuration documentation](/v1/docs/how-to-configure-azure-for-event-hubs))
- Azure connection string generated

## Instructions

1. On the Data Activation platform, select **Connectors** in the left-side navigation bar.
2. Select **Event connector** and click **New event connector**.
3. Select **Azure Event Hubs.**

The form requires the following information:

- **Name**: Display name of the partner Server to server integration, used throughout the Data Activation system (mandatory)
- **Connection string**: Connection string generated by Azure (mandatory)

Once the connector is created, it will directly start sending data to Azure.
