# Axon by AppLovin connection guide

This guide contains all permissions and requirements for connecting your Axon by AppLovin data to Supermetrics.

You can connect to data sources from the [Data sources page on the Supermetrics Hub](https://hub.supermetrics.com/token-management). On the Hub, you can also [share an authentication link](https://docs.supermetrics.com/v1/docs/how-to-connect-to-data-sources-from-supermetrics-hub#share-authentication-link) to connect to a data source you don't have direct access to.

After you connect to the data source on the Hub, you can use the data source connection in [all available destinations](/docs/axon-by-applovin-connection-guide#connection-instructions).

## Required permissions

Before using the Axon by AppLovin connector, you need your API key from the AppLovin platform. To obtain the API key, navigate to the [Keys](https://dash.applovin.com/login#keys) tab of the account page in your AppLovin dashboard.

#### How to generate an API Key

1. [Log in to Axon](https://dash.applovin.com/login) and go to the **API Keys tab** on your account page.
2. Click the **+ New API Key** button.
3. Give the API key a descriptive name to easily identify it, for example, “Supermetrics”.
4. Copy and securely store the new API key immediately. For security reasons, it will not be shown again.

## Query types

If prompted, you need to select a query type to pull data.

- **Performance**: Fetch performance data for your advertising campaigns.

## Connection instructions

When connecting to Axon by AppLovin, you need your API key for the connection.

1. Select the Axon by AppLovin data source [on the Supermetrics Hub](https://hub.supermetrics.com/token-management) or in the data destination.
2. Enter the API key and give a name for your login.
3. If prompted, choose to make this connection [shared or private](https://docs.supermetrics.com/docs/about-shared-and-private-connections).
4. Click **Start**.
5. In your data destination, select the ad accounts to include in your reporting and a query type, if prompted.
