# Awin report building guide

Use the Awin connector to create an overview dashboard to analyze the spend and performance of different campaigns, publishers, or creatives over time. Track and compare the success of different publishers and creatives to make better investment decisions.

## Before you begin

Before you build reports, you need to connect the data source to Supermetrics.

- **Connection instructions:** See our [Awin connection guide](/v1/docs/awin-connection-guide).
- **Available metrics and dimensions:** Find the full list of fields in our [Awin field documentation](/v1/docs/awin-fields).

## Query types

With this data source, you need to select a query type to get the right type of data:

- **Publisher report:** Get aggregate performance metrics, such as impressions and transactions, per publisher.
- **Creative report:** Fetch aggregate performance metrics, such as impressions and transactions, per creative used.
- **Transactions report:** Pull all individual transactions to check their status and commissions paid.

## Popular queries

These query configurations help you track key performance indicators and analyze trends. You can use these settings in any Supermetrics destination, such as Data Explorer, Dashboards, Google Sheets, Data Studio, or data warehouse destinations.

### Track commission trends over time

See how your commission has evolved over the last 3 months to spot patterns, seasonal shifts, or the impact of recent campaign changes.

To fetch this data, use the following settings in your reporting or visualization tool:

| Setting | Value |
| --- | --- |
| Query type | Transactions report |
| Date range | Last 3 months |
| Metrics | Commission amount |
| Dimensions | Date |
| Suggested visualization | Time series chart |

#### Understanding the data

- **Commission amount:** The total commission earned for transactions within the selected date range.
- **Date:** Splits results by day so you can see how commission fluctuates over time.

### Compare commission by advertiser

Break down your year-to-date commission by advertiser ID and date to see which advertisers are generating the most value and how that has changed over time.

To fetch this data, use the following settings in your reporting or visualization tool:

| Setting | Value |
| --- | --- |
| Query type | Transactions report |
| Date range | Year to date |
| Metrics | Commission amount |
| Dimensions | Advertiser ID, Date |
| Suggested visualization | Table |

#### Understanding the data

- **Commission amount:** The total commission earned for transactions within the selected date range.
- **Advertiser ID:** Splits results by advertiser so you can compare commission performance across partners.
- **Date:** Further splits results by day for granular trend analysis per advertiser.

### Analyze commission and sales by country

See both commission and sales figures for the current month, broken down by advertiser country and transaction ID, to understand the geographic distribution of your affiliate revenue.

To fetch this data, use the following settings in your reporting or visualization tool:

| Setting | Value |
| --- | --- |
| Query type | Transactions report |
| Date range | This month to date |
| Metrics | Commission amount, Sale amount |
| Dimensions | Transaction ID, Advertiser country |
| Suggested visualization | Table |

#### Understanding the data
