# Awin connection guide

This guide contains all permissions and requirements for connecting your Awin data to Supermetrics.

<meta charset="utf-8">

You can connect to data sources from the [Data sources page on the Supermetrics Hub](https://hub.supermetrics.com/token-management). On the Hub, you can also [share an authentication link](https://docs.supermetrics.com/v1/docs/how-to-connect-to-data-sources-from-supermetrics-hub#share-authentication-link) to connect to a data source you don't have direct access to.

After you connect to the data source on the Hub, you can use the data source connection in [all available destinations](/docs/awin-connection-guide#connection-instructions).

## Required permissions

To connect Supermetrics to Awin, you need Awin API credentials.

1. Go to the [Awin API credentials page](https://ui.awin.com/awin-api).
2. Enter your Awin password and click **Show my API token**.
3. Copy the API token.

[Learn more about how to create these credentials in the Awin wiki](https://wiki.awin.com/index.php/API_authentication).

## Query types

Query types define what sort of metrics and dimensions are available. You need to select one of the following query types when pulling data:

- **Publisher report**: Get aggregate performance metrics, like impressions and transactions, per publisher.
- **Creative report**: Fetch aggregate performance metrics, like impressions and transactions, per creative used.
- **Transactions report**: Pull all individual transactions to check their status and commissions paid.

## Connection instructions

When connecting to Awin, you need to insert your API key (API token) and select the accounts and query type to use when prompted.

1. Select the Awin data source [on the Supermetrics Hub](https://hub.supermetrics.com/token-management) or in the data destination.
2. Enter your API key.
3. Give your login a name. The name can be anything — its purpose is for you to recognize the login later in case you have multiple logins.
4. If prompted, choose to make this connection [shared or private](https://docs.supermetrics.com/docs/about-shared-and-private-connections).
5. Click **Start**.
6. In your data destination, select the accounts and query types to use.
