# Amplitude connection guide

This guide contains all permissions and requirements for connecting your Amplitude data to Supermetrics.

You can connect to data sources from the [Data sources page on the Supermetrics Hub](https://hub.supermetrics.com/token-management). On the Hub, you can also [share an authentication link](https://docs.supermetrics.com/v1/docs/how-to-connect-to-data-sources-from-supermetrics-hub#share-authentication-link) to connect to a data source you don't have direct access to.

After you connect to the data source on the Hub, you can use the data source connection in [all available destinations](/docs/amplitude-connection-guide#connection-instructions).

## Required permissions

You need an API key and secret key in order to connect to Amplitude.

1. Log in to the [Amplitude web interface](https://app.amplitude.com/login).
2. Click **Settings** in the top right corner and select **Organization settings**.
3. Click **Projects** in the left sidebar.
4. Select the project you wish to connect to.
5. Under **General**, click **Show** next to API Key and Secret Key.
6. Copy the API Key and Secret Key to a secure location.

### Region

Amplitude projects are hosted either on Standard server or EU residency server. In order to identify where your project is hosted, open the [Amplitude web interface](https://app.amplitude.com/analytics/) and check the URL:

- `app.amplitude.com` – Your project is hosted on Standard server.
- `app.eu.amplitude.com` – Your project is hosted on an EU residency server.

## Query types

If prompted, you need to select a query type to pull data.

- **Events**: Fetch all events across a specified time range, including its values and event properties.

## Connection instructions

When connecting to Amplitude, you need to provide your API key and secret key and select the region when prompted.

1. Select the Amplitude data source [on the Supermetrics Hub](https://hub.supermetrics.com/token-management) or in the data destination.
2. Insert the API key and secret key.
3. If prompted, choose to make this connection [shared or private](/v1/docs/about-shared-and-private-connections).
4. Click **Start**.
5. In your data destination, select the region.
