# Adtraction connection guide

This guide contains all permissions and requirements for connecting your Adtraction data to Supermetrics.

<meta charset="utf-8">

You can connect to data sources from the [Data sources page on the Supermetrics Hub](https://hub.supermetrics.com/token-management). On the Hub, you can also [share an authentication link](https://docs.supermetrics.com/v1/docs/how-to-connect-to-data-sources-from-supermetrics-hub#share-authentication-link) to connect to a data source you don't have direct access to.

After you connect to the data source on the Hub, you can use the data source connection in [all available destinations](/docs/adtraction-connection-guide#connection-instructions).

## Required permissions

To connect Supermetrics to Adtraction, you need an [Adtraction API token](https://adtraction.com/blog/get-started-with-the-adtraction-api). These are also referred to as API keys.

To generate this token:

1. [Log in to Adtraction](https://adtraction.com/login).
2. Navigate to **Account** → **Settings**.
3. Select **API** from the navigation menu.
4. Copy the API token. Remember to keep it safe.

## Query types

Query types define what sort of metrics and dimensions are available. You need to select one of the following query types when pulling data.

****Reference list: Adtraction query types****

- Advertiser: Channels
- Advertiser: Clicks
- Advertiser: Transactions
- Advertiser: Statistics
- Advertiser: Statistics by ad
- Advertiser: Statistics by channel

If you're logged with an API token belonging to an advertiser account, you can only use the report types intended for advertiser users. The same applies to affiliate accounts.

## Connection instructions

When connecting to Adtraction, you need to insert your API key (API token) and select the query details when prompted.

1. Select the Adtraction data source [on the Supermetrics Hub](https://hub.supermetrics.com/token-management) or in the data destination.
