# Adobe Commerce (Magento 2) connection guide

This guide contains all permissions and requirements for connecting your Adobe Commerce (Magento 2) data to Supermetrics.

You can connect to data sources from the [Data sources page on the Supermetrics Hub](https://hub.supermetrics.com/token-management). On the Hub, you can also [share an authentication link](https://docs.supermetrics.com/v1/docs/how-to-connect-to-data-sources-from-supermetrics-hub#share-authentication-link) to connect to a data source you don't have direct access to.

After you connect to the data source on the Hub, you can use the data source connection in [all available destinations](/docs/adobe-commerce-magento-2-connection-guide#connection-instructions).

## Required permissions

Before using the Adobe Commerce (Magento 2) connector, you need to generate API credentials in your store admin page.

To get your API credentials:

1. In the Magento admin panel, go to **System** → **Integrations** and select **Add new integration**.
2. Enter a name for the integration, for example, "Supermetrics", and enter your password. You can ignore the other fields.
3. Under **Basic Settings** on the left-hand side, select **API**and give the integration access to the following resources:
  - Sales > Operations > Orders > Actions > View
  - Customers > All Customers
  - Stores > Settings > All Stores
4. Click **Save**.
5. In the list of integrations, click **Activate** for the new integration and click **Allow**.
6. Copy the generated credentials (consumer key, consumer secret, access token, access token secret).

## Query types

Query types define what sort of metrics and dimensions are available. You need to select one of the following query types when pulling data:

- **Orders**: Fetch order-level data and metrics from your store.
- **Order items**: Fetch item-level data and metrics from orders in your store.
- **Customers**: Fetch details of all customers registered in your store.

## Connection instructions

When connecting to Adobe Commerce (Magento 2), you need to provide your API credentials.

1. Select the Adobe Commerce (Magento 2) data source [on the Supermetrics Hub](https://hub.supermetrics.com/token-management) or in the data destination.
2. If prompted, choose to make this connection [shared or private](https://docs.supermetrics.com/docs/about-shared-and-private-connections).
3. Enter a name for your account to identify the login later in case you have multiple accounts.
4. Enter the API credentials.
5. Click **Start**.
6. In your data destination, select the stores to include in your query and a query type to use.
