# Adobe Analytics & Adobe Analytics 2.0 connection guide

This guide contains all permissions and requirements for connecting your Adobe Analytics and Adobe Analytics 2.0 data to Supermetrics.

<meta charset="utf-8">

You can connect to data sources from the [Data sources page on the Supermetrics Hub](https://hub.supermetrics.com/token-management). On the Hub, you can also [share an authentication link](https://docs.supermetrics.com/v1/docs/how-to-connect-to-data-sources-from-supermetrics-hub#share-authentication-link) to connect to a data source you don't have direct access to.

After you connect to the data source on the Hub, you can use the data source connection in [all available destinations](/docs/adobe-analytics-adobe-analytics-20-connection-guide#connection-instructions).

## Required permissions

There are two ways to authenticate Adobe Analytics and Adobe Analytics 2.0:

- Connect with OAuth Server-to-Server (recommended)
- Connect with OAuth

These authentication methods both work differently and have different advantages.

| **Authentication method** | **Details** |
| --- | --- |
| OAuth Server-to-Server | - Requires developer access. - Eliminates the need for users to authenticate manually. - OAuth Server-to-Server is a separate user, which offers additional flexibility but means that all segments and calculated fields must be shared with it. |
| OAuth | - Requires manual reauthentication every 14 days. - Log in with your own Adobe Analytics credentials. - All the settings, segments, and fields available to your account are instantly available in Supermetrics. |

****Prerequisites: Connect with OAuth Server-to-Server****

To connect Supermetrics to Adobe Analytics or Adobe Analytics 2.0 with OAuth Server-to-Server you need:

- A **System Administrator** or **Developer** user role in your Adobe account organization.
- Explicit access granted to see the report suites, reports, segments, and custom fields. [Visit Adobe’s help center to learn how to change user roles](https://helpx.adobe.com/enterprise/using/manage-permissions-and-roles.html).

When you're ready, [follow our detailed guide to create the credentials and connect your Adobe Analytics account to Supermetrics.](/v1/docs/how-to-connect-to-adobe-analytics-with-oauth-server-to-server)

****Prerequisites: Connect with OAuth****

To connect Supermetrics Adobe Analytics or Adobe Analytics 2.0 with OAuth, you need:

- An Adobe ID linked to Experience Cloud with [Web Service Access enabled](https://experienceleague.adobe.com/docs/analytics/admin/company-settings/web-services-admin.html?lang=en)
- The linked ID needs access to the report suites, reports, segments, and custom fields you want to use in your reporting. [Visit Adobe’s help center to learn about granting and changing account permissions](https://helpx.adobe.com/enterprise/using/manage-permissions-and-roles.html).
