# ActiveCampaign connection guide

This guide contains all permissions and requirements for connecting your ActiveCampaign data to Supermetrics.

<meta charset="utf-8">

You can connect to data sources from the [Data sources page on the Supermetrics Hub](https://hub.supermetrics.com/token-management). On the Hub, you can also [share an authentication link](https://docs.supermetrics.com/v1/docs/how-to-connect-to-data-sources-from-supermetrics-hub#share-authentication-link) to connect to a data source you don't have direct access to.

After you connect to the data source on the Hub, you can use the data source connection in [all available destinations](/docs/activecampaign-connection-guide#connection-instructions).

## Required permissions

Before using the ActiveCampaign connector, you need a copy of your API URL and API key and appropriate permissions for data access on your account.

****Set user permissions****

Depending on your needs, your account needs access to the following objects in ActiveCampaign:

- Campaigns
- Deals
- Accounts
- Contacts

You can set these permissions for users and groups in ActiveCampaign's admin settings. To get data on your report, select all permissions for the object. [Learn how to set user permissions in ActiveCampaign](https://help.activecampaign.com/hc/en-us/articles/115000090164-Setting-user-permissions).

If you're an admin user, make sure that you have the necessary permissions. If not, add yourself to a permission group with the necessary permissions.

****Get your API URL and API key****

Each user in ActiveCampaign has their own API URL and API key. To get these:

1. Log into ActiveCampaign with your account.
2. Navigate to **Settings → Developer**.
3. Copy the URL and key from the **API Access** section.

[Learn more about API URL and API key](https://help.activecampaign.com/hc/en-us/articles/207317590-Getting-started-with-the-API).

## Query types

Query types define what sort of metrics and dimensions are available. You need to select one of the following query types when pulling data:

- **Campaigns report**: Follow the performance of your email campaigns. This report fetches data for regular campaign emails as well as automation emails. Automation emails can be identified by the value in the “Automation ID” dimension.
- **Deals report**: Track the status of your sales deals.
- **Accounts report**: Fetch details of your customer accounts.
- **Contacts report**: Fetch details about your contacts.
