About Supermetrics teams and user roles

A Supermetrics team gives its assigned users various kinds of permissions to access Supermetrics Hub, set up data transformations, data transfers, and connect their data. The default roles help separate access to sensitive data, such as transfers and transformations that should only be modified by authorized users in a bigger team. 

Single-user subscriptions

This article doesn't apply to single-user subscriptions bought before summer 2021. Get in touch with us if you'd like to talk about your single-user subscription.

Teams in Supermetrics

We use the term team to describe a group of people who use Supermetrics under one subscription, and team member to refer to those people individually. Team members can have different user roles in the team, giving them different access to the Supermetrics Hub.

Team members can belong to multiple teams with different subscriptions. Any team they’re on needs to have a subscription to use Supermetrics before they can use it.

A subscription can only belong to one team, and only that team's members can be added to it as subscription users.

User roles

Supermetrics has 5 team member roles. These roles affect team management and what the users can do on the Supermetrics Hub — they don't impact someone’s ability to use a subscription in a data destination. To restrict access to a data destination, you can do it in the data destination itself, such as make a spreadsheet View only for other users. 

  • Owner and Admin permissions allow you to manage the team.

  • Owner, Admin, or Editor permissions allow you to work on all platform assets on the Supermetrics Hub, such as set up data transformations and transfers and modify them.

  • Viewer permission allows you to view the platform assets on the Supermetrics Hub, such as transfers or data transformations, but not create new ones or modify them. Viewers can use the data they have access to in the data destinations.

  • Users with Finance access can view and manage billing on the Supermetrics Hub but are unable to access any assets on the Hub. 

Note that Admins can't adjust permissions for their team's Owners.
